The short version: download a
.zyrnplugin file and open it in any ZYRNTOPO app, or paste its link into Plugins ▸ From a link. The same file works on Android, in the browser, on Windows and on Linux. Each plugin shows what it needs (the internet, TAK messages, your position, files or your map items) and asks once before it runs.Install a plugin
| App | How |
|---|---|
| ZYRNTOPO (web, Windows, Linux, Android) | Plugins on the toolbar, or in Tools on a phone, then Import or From a link |
| ZYRNMAPS (Android) | Menu ▸ Plugins ▸ Install file or From a link, or open the file from Files, Downloads or a chat app |
| ZYRN Workstation (Windows, Linux) | The Plugins tab ▸ Install…, double-click the file, or drop it on the window |
To install from a link, copy the address of the download, for example:
https://zyrntopo.com/plugins/lost-person-rings.zyrnpluginSearch and rescue
| Plugin | What it does | Needs |
|---|---|---|
| Lost Person Rings | Statistical search rings (25, 50, 75 and 95 percent) around the last known point from your team's Lost Person Behavior figures, saved as profiles, plus a travel-limit ring from the hours since last seen and walking speed. Can add the rings to Map Items so the whole team sees them. | Map items |
| Team Check-in | Personnel accountability. Everyone heard over TAK with the time since they last reported; an alert and a last-known-location marker when someone goes quiet past your limit; a roll call to All Chat Rooms that ATAK, WinTAK and iTAK show as chat; a roster to save as CSV. | TAK, files |
| Unit Log | A timestamped activity log with positions. One-tap entries for departed, on assignment, clue found, complete and returned; clues become red markers. Saves as an ICS 214-style CSV or a GPX. Other plugins on this page write their alerts into it. | Position, files, map items |
| Checklists | Shared checklists from templates (initial response, team departure, debrief) or your own list. Everyone on the same TAK network with the plugin sees who ticked what and when. | TAK, files |
| Reference Grid | A lettered and numbered grid (A1, B4…) over the view or between two corners, so a whole team names a place the same way on the radio. Tap the map to read the cell; keep the grid as a layer or save it as GeoJSON. | Files |
Tracking and alerts
| Plugin | What it does | Needs |
|---|---|---|
| Bloodhound | Live range, bearing, closing speed and arrival time from you or any team member to a team member, map item or point. The line turns from green to yellow to red as the arrival time drops, with an alert on arrival. | TAK, position, map items |
| Geofence Alerts | Turn any area or circle in your Map Items into a geofence and get an alert when you or a team member enters or leaves it. | Map items, TAK, position |
| Aircraft (ADS-B) | Live aircraft around the map from the free adsb.lol network, coloured by altitude, with a low-flying filter for air operations and drone flights and an alert on emergency squawks. | Internet: adsb.lol |
Weather, water and light
| Plugin | What it does | Needs |
|---|---|---|
| Spot Weather | Weather now and for the next 12 hours anywhere (Open-Meteo), the National Weather Service forecast and active alerts in the US, and field observations shared with the team as a marker over TAK. | Internet: Open-Meteo, NWS; TAK, position |
| River Gauges | Live USGS stream gauges in view: flow, water level and whether the river is rising or falling, with an alert when a gauge you watch passes your limit. United States only. | Internet: USGS |
| Daylight | Sunrise, sunset, civil and nautical twilight, moonrise, moonset and moonlight anywhere, with a warning before last light. Works offline. | Position |

A plugin is a folder with a plugin.json and a JavaScript file. There is no signing, no store and no approval: zip the folder, rename it to .zyrnplugin and share it. The plugins on this page are ordinary plugins built on the same API anyone can use, and they talk to each other through the plugin bus: Geofence Alerts, Team Check-in, Bloodhound and the rest write into Unit Log through the zyrn.log topic.
Plugins that share data over TAK send it as Cursor on Target, so it travels through a TAK server and nearby TAK. ATAK, WinTAK and iTAK ignore it; only the same plugin reads it.
